WELCOME

ARBA, the Association for the Rights of Britons Abroad, was founded by a group of British expatriates in Brussels in the late 1970s in order to defend the rights of British expatriates, increasingly ignored by many in Government and in Parliament.

DS LOSES THE PLOT - FRENCH TROPICAL ISLES DETERMINE AVERAGE FRENCH TEMPERATURE - ARE YOU KIDDING - for WFA

“”CONNEXION”” NEWSPAPER SCOOP – re WFA

http://www.connexionfrance.com/winter-fuel-allowance-uk-expat-france-temperature-overseas-tropical-islands-15000-view-article.html

Apparently Minister Iain Duncan Smith’s Department of Works & Pensions has linked temperatures for France’s tropical territories - Martinique, Reunion, Guadeloupe, Mayotte, and French Guiana - with those of Metropolitan France to create typical winter average!  Obviously with the sole objective of  depriving UK expats in France of the Winter Fuel Allowance.

One can only conclude from this that Minister IDS, and his Department of W & P, have all collectively gone mad and joined the Monster Raving Loony Party, and sworn undying allegiance to the late Screaming Lord Sutch.

According to them French tropical islands help determine what the average temperature Winter or Summer is for Metropolitan France - does anyone need to spell out such idiocy. It reminds one of immortal John McEnroe’s statements at Wimbledon – “You Can’t be Serious?”

See more on the Voting Rights page.

PENSIONS - A NEW PETITION ORGANISED THROUGH AVAAZ

END THE UNFAIR FROZEN OVERSEAS PENSION POLICY

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION ON THE AVAAZ.ORG SITE, AND ASK YOUR RELATIVES, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES ALSO

http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/I_want_to_see_pension_parity_for_all_expat_British_pensioners_regardless_of_where_they_live/?ceVcYab

More than half-a-million expat British pensioners living in 49 countries around the world, including British Commonwealth nations, are denied parity in basic pension payments granted to pensioners living in every other part of the world. Their pensions are "frozen" at the same amount received on the first payment. Discrimination against selective pensioners, who, like all other British taxpayers contributed to social security, is indefensible and should be challenged as vigorously as possible.
